Description: An ecoregion denotes an area that contains generally similar ecosystems. Ecoregions are defined by patterns and composition of biotic and abiotic phenomena such as geology, physiography, vegetation, climate, soils, land use, wildlife, and hydrology. Level III ecoregions delineate similar ecosystems at a regional perspective and are subdivisions of level II (national/regional perspective) and Level I (continental perspective) ecoregions. The data within this layer was derived from the U.S. EPA 2003 dataset. Metadata

Description: This layer defines areas that could potentially contribute coarse and fine sediments to stream networks by evaluating where soils at high risk of erosion lie upon areas prone to shallow landslides. Results from the Landslide Model have not been validated.

Description: This layers looks at landslide risk based largely on slope and concavity; therefore, this model works well in situations where topographic factors drive shallow landslides.

Description: This data set consists of general soil association units. It was develped by the National Cooperative Soil Survey and supersedes the State Soil Geographic (STATSGO) data set published in 1994. It consists of a broad based inventory of soils and nonsoil areas that occur in a repeatable pattern on the landscape and that can be cartographically shown at the scale mapped. The data set was created by generalizing more detailed soil survey maps. Where more detailed soil survey maps were not available, data on geology, topography, vegetation, and climate were assembled, together with Land Remote Sensing Satellite (LANDSAT) images. Soils of like areas were studied, and the probable classification and extent of the soils were determined. Map unit composition was determined by transecting or sampling areas on the more detailed maps and expanding the data statistically to characterize the whole map unit. This data set consists of georeferenced vector digital data and tabular digital data. The map data were collected in 1-by 2-degree topographic quadrangle units and merged into a seamless national data set. It is distributed in state/territory and national extents. The soil map units are linked to attributes in the National Soil Information System data base which gives the proportionate extent of the component soils and their properties. Metadata

Description: This layer shows polygons containing some percentage of hydric soils. The layer is a compilation of hydric soil information, primarily from NRCS soil surveys. For areas where no NRCS soil surveys were done, soil survey information from other agency, NGO, and corporate sources, when available, were used. Data was compiled by The Wetlands Conservancy in May, 2009 Metadata

Description: This report publishes a geologic digital spatial database (ORGEO) for the geologic map of Oregon by Walker and MacLeod (1991) which was originally printed on a single sheet of paper at a scale of 1:500,000 and accompanied by a second sheet for map unit descriptions and ancillary data. The spatial digital database (GIS) provided in this report supersedes an earlier digital edition by Raines and others (1996). The dataset was projected to the Oregon Lambert Projection.
